Cherry trees have a very short harvest season. In Bulgaria the earliest varieties start blossoming in the middle of April, hence the first harvest being around the 25-the of May. They are genuinely very cold – hardy trees, which flourish in the warmth of June and early July.

Marikon Ltd,  is currently dealing with three main sorts: Bing, Van and Bigarreau Burlat, however in long term period  new sorts will be introduced. The current sorts of cherries cover a harvest period between 25th of May to 10 July.

Variety: Bigarreau Burlat
Maturing: 25 May - 5 June  
Fruit: very large, heart-broad, slightly flattened, with blunt tip, dark red with a glossy, short handle, sweet, slightly sour, thick flesh with excellent taste. The juice is red. Stone is small, separated from the meat.
Variety: Bing
Maturing: 17 -28 June  
Fruit: very large, heart-broad, glossy, dark red, with black skin tone and numerous spots. The flesh is red, thick, sweet-sour, juicy, dark red with juice and very good to excellent quality. A small stone that separated from the meat.
Variety: Van
Maturing: 20 - 05 July
Fruit: very large, heart-broad, glossy, dark red, with black skin tone and numerous spots. The flesh is crisp, sweet, yellowish to pale pink stone around. Short handle. Stone is small and separated from the meat.
